About Me
Sarah Penner, CPA, Owner
Sarah Penner was born and raised on a cattle farm in DeBolt, Alberta. To this day, she loves returning home to help sort cows or hop on the forage harvester during silage season. Growing up, she learned a lot about the challenges that small businesses face and has compassion for the difficult decisions and pressures that are present, but also a lot of excitement about the lifestyle that self-employment can afford.
Sarah is a piano player and lover of the theatre and has participated in many productions both when she worked for Rosebud Theatre near Drumheller, and also locally at Grande Prairie Live Theatre. She enjoys accompanying local music groups, including the Student Chorale at Peace River Bible Institute in Sexsmith. She sees value in communities coming together to collectively tell stories that inspire hope and create appreciation of one another.
Sarah began her accounting journey when she was seven, making entries in the farm synoptic ledger. During high school, she worked for her uncle, a local accountant, and learned a lot about bookkeeping. After being gone for several years and pursuing musical and other business opportunities (including Sarah’s Ice Cream!), Sarah returned to the Peace Country in 2016 to pursue accounting in a more serious way, settling in Sexsmith. While working at a local accounting firm, Sarah obtained her Chartered Professional Accounting designation in 2019. She is excited about using her skills and the experience she has gained over the years to help local businesses feel confident that they are meeting their filing obligations, and giving them more time to focus on the things they are passionate about. Plus, she just loves organizing things and filling out forms!
